The GE IS200RAPAG1A is the remote analog I/O workhorse for the Mark VIe system. It’s designed for distributed locations where you don’t have a local controller—eight analog inputs and eight analog outputs in a single module, communicating with the main controller over the remote I/O bus. If you’ve got analog signals at the turbine deck, the boiler house, or the pump station, this module brings them into the system without running hundreds of wires back to the main rack.

The “RAPA” designation tells you this is a remote analog I/O pack. The “G1A” is the base revision. Field Replacement Pitfalls

The RAPAG1A is a remote analog I/O module—installation mistakes are usually about wiring and bus termination.

Remote Bus Termination—Terminate Both Ends. The remote I/O bus requires termination at both ends. If you don’t terminate the bus, the communication will be unreliable. One site in Texas had intermittent I/O faults—they didn’t terminate the bus. The fix: install terminator modules.

Analog Outputs—4–20 mA, Not Voltage. The outputs are 4–20 mA only. If you need voltage outputs, use a different module or add a resistor. One site in Ohio tried to get 0–10 V from the output—they added a 500 Ω resistor to convert 4–20 mA to 2–10 V. It worked, but the accuracy was degraded. The fix: use the correct module for voltage outputs.

Input Configuration—Program It. Each analog input must be configured for the correct range in ToolboxST. The defaults don’t work. One site in Pennsylvania saw no input readings—they’d left the inputs in the default state.

Grounding—Remote I/O Bus is Isolated, But Field Grounds Matter. The 2,500 V isolation is between the field I/O and the bus. But if you have a ground loop in the field wiring, the analog readings will be noisy. Use shielded cable and ground the shield at one end only.

ESD. The analog front-end is sensitive. Strap up.
