Bearing health monitoring is critical for turbine reliability. When the cabinet sits outside in the cold, the vibration and temperature signals need to be accurate—not drifting with the temperature. The IS200TBAIH1BAA is the extended-temperature version of the revision B bearing analyzer input module, built to keep the vibration signals clean and the temperature readings accurate from –40 to +70 °C.
The “BAA” suffix combines the Revision B enhanced filtering with extended-temperature components and conformal coating. The input amplifiers are cold-rated parts that maintain their gain and offset at –40 °C. The enhanced anti-aliasing filtering works across the temperature range. The board has conformal coating. The rest is the same: eight inputs, 16-bit resolution, 2,500 V isolation.

Quality Inspection Process (SOP Transparency)
The TBAIH1BAA gets the full thermal chamber treatment plus EMI stress—our 30-point inspection verifies accuracy, filtering, and EMI rejection at –40 °C and +70 °C.
Incoming Verification. OEM packing slip matched to GE’s serial database. We log the serial and photograph the anti-static bag before cutting. The holographic GE label gets a UV check. The PCB edge must read “–TBAIH1BAA” clearly.
Visual Inspection. Magnifying lamp, full board scan. Conformal coating must be continuous. The cold-rated amplifiers and enhanced filtering components are visually confirmed. The 96-pin backplane connector shows zero wear.
Live Functional Test. Mark VIe test rack with a signal generator (accelerometer simulator, proximity probe simulator, 4–20 mA source), EMI generator, reference meter, and Tenney chamber.
- Cold soak (4 hours at –40 °C): Accuracy test—within ±0.25%. Filtering test—noise rejected. EMI rejection test—clean signal.

Field Replacement Pitfalls
The TBAIH1BAA handles temperature extremes—installation mistakes are similar to other bearing analyzer modules.
Sensor Type—Program It Correctly. Configure each input for the correct sensor type. The module can’t auto-detect.
Grounding—Use Shielded Cable. Use shielded cable and ground the shield at one end only.
Filtering—Enable It. The enhanced filtering works at –40 °C. Enable it for cleaner signals.
Cold Temperature Input Drift—The “BAA” Holds Accuracy. The cold-rated amplifiers maintain accuracy at –40 °C. But the field sensor might drift—use a sensor rated for –40 °C.
ESD. The input circuits are sensitive. Strap up.
New Original vs. Refurbished: Why It Matters
The TBAIH1BAA has cold-rated amplifiers and enhanced filtering—refurbishers can’t add these.
What “New Original (New Surplus)” means. This IS200TBAIH1BAA came from GE’s factory with the cold-rated components and enhanced filtering. We break the seal only for testing.
Refurbished risk in plain terms. A refurbisher may buy a standard TBAIH1A, clean it, and sell it as a “BAA.” At –40 °C, the standard amplifiers drift and the filtering is inadequate.
