The GE IS200SCTLG1A is the serial link module for the Mark VIe system—a simpler serial communication module than the SCNV series, focused on reliable point-to-point and multi-drop links. Quality Inspection Process (SOP Transparency)

Incoming Verification. OEM packing slip matched to GE’s serial database. We log the serial and photograph the anti-static bag before cutting. The holographic GE label gets a UV check. The PCB edge must read “–SCTLG1A” clearly.

Field Replacement Pitfalls
The SCTLG1A is a serial link module—installation mistakes are usually about wiring and configuration.
RS-485 Termination—Terminate the Bus. RS-485 requires termination at both ends. If you don’t terminate the bus, communication will be unreliable.
Wiring—RS-485 is Polarity-Sensitive. A and B terminals must be wired correctly. One site in Ohio reversed A and B—the module couldn’t communicate.
Baud Rate—Match the Device. The baud rate must match the connected device. One site in Pennsylvania had 9,600 baud on the module and 19,200 on the device—no communication.
Transparent Protocol—No Conversion. The SCTLG1A doesn’t do protocol conversion—it’s a transparent link. If you need Modbus or other protocol conversion, use the SCNV series.
Digital Outputs—0.5 A is the Limit. Use interposing relays for larger loads.
