What’s the difference between the NMEA1K1H and the NMEA1J1G?
The 1K1H adds 10 Mrad gamma tolerance (the 1J1G has 1 Mrad gamma tolerance) and a radiation event LED. The neutron hardening is the same on both boards (10^13 n/cm²). The 1K1H is for the most extreme mixed neutron + gamma environments where gamma levels are very high; the 1J1G is for standard reactor environments with moderate gamma background.
What’s the difference between the NMEA1K1H and the NMEA1H1E?
The 1K1H is optimized for neutron radiation with extremely high gamma background—10^13 n/cm² neutron tolerance and 10 Mrad gamma. The 1H1E is optimized for gamma and heavy ions (deep-space) with 10 Mrad gamma and heavy ion tolerance, but no neutron hardening. The 1K1H is for extreme reactor environments; the 1H1E is for space environments.
What’s the gamma event LED?
The Gamma Event LED indicates that the board has detected a significant gamma radiation event. The board logs gamma events and can recover from gamma-induced single-event effects. This is a feature of the “K” suffix—the “J” variant doesn’t have gamma event logging.
What’s the radiation tolerance of this board?

Do I need to upgrade my DMP firmware for the enhanced diagnostics?
