The DS3800HIOA1B1A is the I/O expansion board in the 1B1A configuration—spring-cage terminals on Bank 1 and 0.8A fusing, with 0.5A fusing on Bank 2. This board extends the Mark V system’s I/O capacity by providing additional backplane slots, and the spring-cage terminals reduce termination time compared to screw-clamp. The mixed fusing allows you to match protection to different types of I/O modules or cable runs. The 32 I/O point capacity is sufficient for most expansion needs.

We’ve used the HIOA1B1A in a retrofit project where we needed to add 24 additional I/O points to an existing Mark V system.
