The expansion rack was dead—a shorted I/O module had taken out the entire 24 VDC bus. The DS3800DEPB1A1A has fused outputs: a 5 A fuse on each output rail, so a short on one rail doesn’t take down the whole rack. Swapped the standard DEPB for the 1A1A variant, and a shorted I/O module now takes out only its own rail.

GE’s DS3800DEPB1A1A is the power supply module for the Mark IV Speedtronic expansion racks with per-output fusing. It provides regulated 24 VDC power to the I/O modules in the expansion rack. Fuse-Blown LED Interpretation
