Complex weighing applications—multi-sensor systems, hybrid weight/flow control, and quality control—need many channels. The 531X207LCSAMG1 gives you 16 load cell inputs, 8 analog outputs, and 8 digital I/O in a single board.

The AMG1 is the multi-channel load cell/scale control board for the 2070 platform. It replaced the ALG1, which had 8 digital I/O. GE added 8 more digital I/O, kept the same 16 load cell inputs and 8 analog outputs, and maintained the 0.05% accuracy. I’ve used the AMG1 on a complex batching system—the board handled 16 load cells and 8 digital control signals.

LED D1 (green) comes on; D2 flashes during load cell activity; D3 flashes during control activity; D4 stays off.

The PID is aggressive. Start with low gains and increase gradually.

4. Ground Loops—Single-Point Grounding
The load cell inputs are differential. Use single-point grounding.

5. Power Dissipation—High Current Draw
The AMG1 draws 1.4 A at 5 V and 1.1 A at 24 V. Check the rack’s power supply capacity.
